Authentic Scottish culinary experiences with a Scottish Chef
Let me create, especially for you, an inspiring Scottish culinary experience that features the renowned high-quality food and drink from my native land. On my bespoke Scottish food tours, I’ll invite you to accompany me into Scotland’s world-famous natural larder.
As an experienced, Savoy-trained professional chef who has been privileged to work with Scotland’s superlative produce throughout my career, I’ll share with you the places where iconic Scottish food and drink specialities are grown or produced.
Join me on a journey that’s guaranteed to whet your appetite for the myriad gustatory delights that Scottish gastronomy has to offer.
What can you see on a Christopher Trotter Scottish food tour?
The choice is yours! Your personal Scottish food tour can be tailored entirely to your party’s individual food and drink preferences.
But don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with Scottish cuisine and would welcome advice from a friendly Scottish chef, as I’d be only too delighted to guide you through the cornucopia of culinary treasures available to you here in Scotland.
Perhaps you’d enjoy a ‘meet the makers’ tour, which gives you the chance to hear Scotland’s dedicated growers and producers share the genuine food stories behind their brands, and their passion for the food and drink they produce – not to mention some of the challenges they face while doing so.
And of course, as well as learning all about how their produce is grown or made, you’ll have a chance to taste it!
A flavour of my culinary tours
The length and content of your bespoke culinary tour can vary to suit your timescale and budget. Here are just a few options to give you a ‘taste’ of the fabulous Scottish culinary experiences I can provide:
- A ‘meet the maker’ visit, e.g. to St Andrews Farmhouse Cheese company, ideal for non-golfers while their partners play any of Fife’s fabulous courses.
- A day trip around Fife taking in Ardross Farm shop, Crail Harbour, a beach walk, a chocolate demonstration at The Cocoa Tree shop in Pittenweem, and finally on to Balgove Farm Shop.
- A one or two-day ‘foodie tour’ of artisanal producers in Perthshire, Angus or Aberdeenshire – or indeed anywhere in Scotland.
- A week-long food and whisky tour traversing the Highlands and Islands.
- A whisky and food pairing experience.
Simply let me know what interests you or your group and I’ll draw on my extensive knowledge of local and seasonal cuisine, plus the expertise of my many good friends in the Scottish food and drink industry, to create a multisensory Scottish culinary tour that will transport and tantalise your taste buds! Experience Scotland’s luxurious larder for yourself
From the beautiful berry fields of Blairgowrie to the sparkling salmon rivers of Speyside, and from the lush grasslands grazed by Dumfriesshire’s dairy cows to the undulating malting barley fields of Angus, Scotland boasts a well-stocked natural larder that lends itself to superlative gastronomic experiences.
Scotland’s food and drink have long enjoyed international fame. It would be my pleasure to help you and/or your group appreciate at first hand precisely why the appeal of Scottish produce is as enduring as it is global.
